Best Mavic Drone for Pros: Mavic 2 Pro / Zoom
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro / Zoom is among one of my favorite Mavic Series. It is a hulking beast with a powerful camera, superior remote control distance and impressive flight time. It is also home to one of the most advanced features such as OcuSync for dedicated transmission and ActiveTrack 2.0 that accurately predicts flight trajectory.
Both Zoom and Pro are the same models, but comes with different camera specifications. For starters, the Pro features Hasselblad camera with 1″ CMOS Sensor. Professional aerial photographers will want the Mavic 2 Pro as it is capable of producing ultra-high definition stills and videos with impressive level of details.
The Zoom version has the same camera specifications to the original Mavic Pro. But it features zoom capability that allows you to create Dolly Effect. If you want to be able to zoom up close to the wildlife without interrupting their lifecycle, the Mavic 2 Zoom is a perfect pick.
The Mavic 2 drone can fly up to 45 miles per hour and have up to 31 minutes of flight time. Moreover, they recently got a range upgrade which increases the maximum transmission distance to 6 miles. Many drone pilots prefer the Mavic 2 drone because of imaging quality, aerial performance (it’s powerful enough to handle moderate winds), and flexibility. It’s the drone that you can fly outdoors pretty much most of the time.

Also there’s rumors that a recently patented image of Mavic 3 drone indicates DJI is aiming for either fall or winter launch this year. The new Mavic 3 drone design is looking to be similar with foldable motor arms and upward obstacle-avoidance sensor.
DJI announced that they are hosting a virtual event this September 2020 and accidentally leaked images of a drone with new design. From what it looks like to be a strong potential candidate that could be either Mavic 3 or Inspire 3.
