Rumors that DJI have been working on a brand new Mavic 3 drone quickly surfaced after the world-class drone industry accidentally leaked the release date for the upcoming foldable quadcopter.
We have been covering rumors and leaks about the Mavic 3 drone since the release of Autel EVO 2 sent DJI executives back to the drawing board. Because of Autel EVO 2’s monstrous specifications and hulking 8K UHD video capabilities, DJI had to delay their Mavic 3 release date to September 26th.
While DJI could have launched Mavic 3 prior to its initial launch date, professional remote pilots would have not been happy with 4K UHD video capabilities and few extra flight minutes. A lot of remote pilots are hoping for significant improvements with the third installment of Mavic Series.
According to a recent leaked information that DJI patented on new technologies, the Mavic 3 will take on a much different form of appearance and performance compared to its predecessor. Considering how similar the Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Mini is to their grand siblings.
It’s probably why all of sudden DJI is stepping up their innovative game to reclaim their lead in the drones industry as more competitors are joining in the arena. So it will be interesting to see how the new Mavic 3 drone is going to end up as.
But so far according to information that we have gathered from leaks and rumors, we know that Mavic 3 drone will have:
- Bigger and upgraded battery for longer flight time.
- At least 4K UHD video resolution that records 60 frames per second.
- Completely new camera module designed to capture low-light situations.
- Brand new foldable arms.
- Improved flight remote control range.
- Higher maximum flight speed.
- More autonomous flight controls.
Mavic 3 Release Date: September 26th
As I previously mentioned that the release date for Mavic 3 drone will be on September 26th. I want to point out that this date will be on Saturday and it is actually a very smart move. We are living in a world where we have to social distance and stay home due to COVID-19.
Thus DJI is doing this completely online and virtually anyone who is interested in learning their new drone from home. This means DJI will be able to reach a much larger audience to showcase their latest drone that everyone has been hoping for.
So, how exactly do we know that the Mavic 3 drone possibly could be happening on September 26th? According to a rumor which was transcribed in Chinese language that means:
“Talk about the third return of the “king of kings”
The third return of the “king of kings” could indicate that DJI sees Mavic 3 as a major consumer drone to leap forward. Which will replace their iconic and flagship Phantom Series.
Furthermore, another rumor in Chinese language says:
“The future is here”
This sentence suggests that Mavic means royal in Chinese language. Although, we weren’t sure if it was correct. Currently there’s not any much information about the upcoming consumer-grade drone that everyone is hoping for.
Mavic 3 Versus Inspire 3
While most of us have our mind set on the Mavic 3 drone, this also could mean a third installment of Inspire Series. As of right now, Inspire 2 was released in 2014. A lot have changed in the past 6 years so it probably makes sense to revitalize the Inspire Series.
Again, rumors about the new Mavic Series are completely up in the air — although rumors which were transcribed in Chinese language seems to be reinforcing it as opposed to Inspire 3 drone. Let us know what you think of these leaked rumors which includes DJI accidentally announcing Mavic 3 release date.
We will have to wait 2 more months before we get our hands on this new consumer-grade camera drone that a lot of professional and recreational remote pilots are excited about. Stay tuned for more Mavic 3 drone news at Gears Deals.
